Where is Andy This Month?

As many AMERIPEN members know, Serlin Haley LLP has been retained for the last 3-years to coordinate state advocacy and outreach on behalf of the association.  These efforts have taken Andy Hackman, with Serlin Haley, around the country each month on behalf of AMERIPEN in support of state policies that are supported by our research.  Here is where Andy will be in the next month as AMERIPEN engages on state level recycling policy discussions:

As Michigan continues to discuss comprehensive changes to their solid waste act (as described above), AMERIPEN will be attending and engaging in the SWRA meetings on January 19.

As legislation has been introduced (S.285/287) to relax some of the solid waste mandates regarding mandatory recyclables and yard waste – AMERIPEN will be in Vermont touching base with stakeholders to see if this issue will get traction.

CalRecycle continues to explore a mandatory packaging framework; AMERIPEN will be conferring with legislative staff and industry partners to determine strategies to ensure packaging types are not banned or face restrictions.

While there has been limited recycling discussions in Illinois since 2015 and the conclusion of a recycling Taskforce and some labeling study legislation, AMERIPEN will be checking-in with legislators about potential actions on recycling.
