Serlin Haley

We are pleased to announce that Serlin Haley is strengthening its West Coast presence by welcoming Lauren Aguilar, who joins us from Sacramento.

Lauren brings an expertise in policy and strategy after six years working for the California legislature. She most recently served as  Capitol director for Assemblymember Phillip Chen (R-55), a deputy whip, where she was directly involved with several bills that ultimately were signed into law. As a staffer in both the Assembly and the Senate, Lauren worked with the Utilities and Energy, Environmental Safety and Toxics, Banking and Finance, and Business and Professions Committees. She dealt with government, business, advocate and labor stakeholders while building key relationships on both sides of the aisle. Lauren has worked closely with local municipalities and counties, the CA Council for Environmental and Economic Balance (CCEEB), the CA Grocers Association, CAL Chamber, CA Building Industry Association, CA Bankers Association and several others.

Prior to joining Chen’s staff, Lauren served as an aide to two former Republican legislators, Asm. Eric Linder and Sen. Joel Anderson.  She is a graduate of the University of California at Davis, where she majored in political science with a minor in war and peace studies.  In Sacramento she has been involved directly with the California Latino Capitol Association, the Republican Legislative Directors Caucus (which she co-chaired), and the Capitol Fellowship Program, as a mentor.

A trivia buff and a “huge foodie,” she says she spends her free time doing improv comedy and seeking out the best latte wherever she travels.

Please join us in welcoming Lauren to our team.  She can be reached in Sacramento at (916) 790-1600 or by email at
